Six of the Astasambhu in Bargarh Odisha (‘ashta’; which means eight and ‘sambhu’ signifies another name of Lord Shiva) is a complex of 8 Shiva sanctuaries that were assembled a few centuries prior, during the rule of the Chauhan line.

Baradabalunkeswara of Gaisima-The Baradabalunkeswara sanctuary is arranged in Gaisima town which is 13 kms from the DHQ. It should have been worked in the middle of 1766 to 1778 by Abhaya Singh the King of Sambalpur.

 

Swapneswar of Sorna-Sorna is a town in the square of Attabira. It is 30 kms a long way from the DHQ. There are 2 courses to go to the town. One is through Rengali Camp and the other is through Remunda. It was worked during the Kingship of Ajit Singh in Sambalpur under the oversight of Dewan Dakshinray. Baidyanath of Deogaon-Deogaon is a town only 7 kms a long way from the DHQ. It is arranged on the western side of the DHQ and next to the street that prompts Bhatli. According to the variant of Historian Shiba Prasad Dash, this sanctuary of Lord Baidyanath was additionally worked by King Ajit Singh of Sambalpur under the management of his Dewan Dakshinray.

 

Mahakaleswar of Nilji-The town Nilji is arranged on the South of the DHQ and goes under Bhatli Police station. As per a mainstream legend, Lord Shiba embodied here as Mahakaleswar during the rule of Chouhan King Balaram Dev. Thusly, the sanctuary was worked to revere him.

Kedarnath of Ambabhona-Ambabhona is arranged at the foot of Barapahar Mountain. It is on the northern side of and 35 kms a long way from the DHQ. The sanctuary of Lord Kedarnath exists here inside a lovely lake.
